An American Bank

The bank required a one-stop solution for their challenges of data manually maintained and synchronized by business teams across the organization. Information on branches and nonbranch facilities, including services offerings at each branch, was managed in silos by multiple business functions resulting in no reliable source of truth across the enterprise. Fresh Gravity implemented Location Master using Semarchy MDM that became the foundation for the bank’s website branch details and Location Finder service as well as other internal applications.

Problem

The client needed a central repository of their services and offerings and the ability to connect customers with their inquiries and service needs at the nearest branches and offices.

Solution

A Semarchy xDM application was implemented to bring together varied location data, facilities and service offerings, and to provide details to the client’s website and internal applications. Mastered data includes all physical and virtual “locations” and types such as branches, loan centers, financial centers, kiosks, etc. and the specific services and features offered at each of the location, such as teller service, ATMs, the types of ATMs, drive-thru, and hours and availability of the services and the personnel related to the locations. Location is the first domain in the client’s broader strategy to centralize and master key data domains across the enterprise. This information is leveraged by the client’s website to help guide its customers to the appropriate locations and inform them of the services and availability/hours of use, as well as help identify banking representatives they could meet with for customized services.

Impact

This project introduced the concept of master data management to the business areas and demonstrated how having a centralized and trusted source for every type of master domain benefits the business. It was a stepping-stone to expanding mastering to other domains in the future with further domains in the works such as employees and customers.
